2001 Convergence San Jose

The 2001 Convergence was in San Jose where we were to visit the famed Winchester House for a flashlight tour. We also were looking forward to catching up with a lot of old friends we hadn’t seen since Transworld . The Convergence was ramped up this year with more seminars, an auction (Eerie Industries donated one of their custom creations) and of course, the masquerade ball.

Friday was the first day of he event where everyone got a chance to catch up with each other on events of the past year and we had several great presentations from specialty make-up applications, gory food decoration for parties and our own haunter’s version of Junkyard Wars where volunteers built the soldiers guards from Universal’s re-release of The Mummy.

There were also several door prizes donated by haunted industry vendors given out to attendees during the course of the weekend. Friday night, we had the great fortune of heading over the historic Winchester House where haunters were split into groups and explored the house with only a flashlight. Don’t think we felt any spirits; however, with this group WE may have shied them away for the evening.

Saturday was another round of seminars and creating new friendships. That night there was the masquerade ball and the Haunt Olympics.

Once again, the costumes were great.
